venison jerky!!!!
couple of pounds of that deer you got. cut into thin strips, 1/2 inch wide- 1/4 inch thick (or so).
use a meat tenderizer ( spiky hammer) pound it flat on both sides. soak in dales marinade for 24 hours or so. other seasonings can be used. but the dales give a great flavor with just enough salt.
place on a wire rack dont let it touch each other, i used a rack from a gas grill. place rack on a cookie sheet, or pan to catch drippings. cook on 160 to 180 for 4 or 5 hours... until dry all the way thru.
then enjoy..
the tray was full, but my daughter helped herself....

Looks good Bob. Lawrys Signature Steakhouse seasoning does really well too.
thanks for the tip.
my first batch i did with lawry's season salt. just a dry rub. it was good, the dales is better.i think it just soaked in and infused the flavor. i am gonna try the lawry's marinade mix when i get the one i got on turkey day.i will try the steakhouse as well. its at the processors.
i will post up my stew recipe when i make it as well.
dad dropped off the smoker tonight. so i am gonna smoke the rest of it, bout a lb&1/2.
