When in the woods- Winchester 94. When in the open- Browning Bar 7mm mag.

Agree with the above regarding the 94 Winchester. I also use a Ruger American in .243 when hunting over a clear cut.

In Georgia?
I like fast and flat and generally hunt in relatively open areas. Given that, .243, .25-06, .260. Last 3 or so years has been a .260. May use something different this year... just because. (If I'm in the woods, a handgun.)

Can't beat it for value and simplicity. It compares pretty close to the savage rifles which I have always had good luck out of.
