Course Description: This course is designed to enhance the student's defensive pistol skills with an emphasis on marksmanship and gunhandling. The class will begin with a discussion on the fundamentals of marksmanship folowed by drills from "the ready" and culminating with work from the holster and reloading.
Students need to bring the following:
• All personal safety equipment (eye/ear protection, brimmed hat, etc)
• A quality firearm
• Minimum of three magazines for pistols or loaders for revolvers
• A holster that will not collapse when the pistol is drawn and that does not have a retention device that requires the use of the trigger finger to actuate (such as the Serpa). AIWB is good to go, but no crossdraw or shoulder rigs.
• Personal comfort items (drinks, snacks, chairs, etc)
• 250 rounds of ammunition
The fee for the class is $135.00. A spot in the class may be secured by paying a $50.00 deposit. Fees will apply if paid online via Eventbrite. The $135.00 covers tuition and range rental.
Arrangements to pay the deposit or full class fee via cash, check, money order, or PayPal may be made by contacting the instructor at lee@firstpersonsafety.com.
Weather Policy: If the weather is such that it jeopardizes the students' safety, the class will be postponed or delayed as appropriate. Otherwise, the class will go forth as scheduled rain or shine.
Cancellation Policy: The deposit is non-refundable if you choose not to attend the class. If the range were to cancel, full refunds will be made. . If I am forced to cancel the class for reasons other than the outlined above, students will have the option of refund of their deposit or attending the course on another date at a reduced fee.
I reserve the right to cancel the class and grant full refunds if fewer than five students sign up for the class.
POST Credit: POST certified peace officers will receive POST credit for this class.
