The course will culminate with students shooting the FBI and GA POST Qualification Courses. Students who pass the courses will receive a letter documenting their scores on the courses and that the instructor administering the courses is a GA POST certified firearms instructor and is a graduate of the FBI Police Firearms Instructor program.
Students will need to bring the following:
• All personal safety equipment (eye/ear protection, brimmed hat, etc)
• A quality firearm with a minimum 6-shot capacity
• Minimum of three loading devices (magazines, speed loaders, etc) w/ carriers
• A holster that will not collapse when the pistol is drawn and that does not have a retention device that requires the use of the trigger finger to actuate (such as the Serpa)
• Concealment garment
• Personal comfort items (drinks, snacks, chairs, etc)
• 350 rounds of ammunition
The defensive pistol drills will consist of rapid presentation to the target, changing your angle to get a safer shot, shoot/don’t shoot drills, divided attention drills, and more. This will be a fun and challenging class.
Skill Level: In order to attend this class, the student should be capable following directions, accepting coaching, and have safe gun-handling skills. There will be some movement with drawn pistols and shots at 25 yards. There will be strict time and accuracy standards.
The fee for the class is $100.00. A spot in the class may be secured by paying a $50.00 deposit (plus a $3.74 processing fee if paid online via credit card through Eventbrite). There is a $10 range fee payable to the range on the day of the class.
Arrangements to pay the deposit via cash, check, money order, or PayPal may be made by contacting the instructor at lee@firstpersonsafety.com.
Weather Policy: If the weather is such that it jeopardizes the students' safety, the class will be postponed or delayed as appropriate. Otherwise, the class will go forth as scheduled rain or shine.
Cancellation Policy: The deposit is non-refundable if you choose not to attend the class. If the range were to cancel, full refunds will be made. I reserve the right to cancel the class and grant full refunds if fewer than five students sign up for the class. If I am forced to cancel the class for reasons other than the outlined above, students will have the option of refund of their deposit or attending the course on another date at a reduced fee.
POST Credit: POST certified peace officers will receive POST credit for this class.
