Did you take "risks" as a child growing up, if so, post em here

As a kid learning to work with farm machinery like tractors, harrows, bush hogs, chainsaws etc and cropping and hanging tobacco in a tobacco barn.

Man I remember pickin tobacco and hangin it on them sticks. Fill up the trailer and head to the barn. The top of that barn was HOT to where you could hardly breathe. Good times and that was long time ago. Started when I was six and stopped when I was fourteen.

I’m only 30 but I remember waking up during summer at age 9 or 10, telling parents I was gonna ride my four wheeler and stay gone ALL DAY, just had to be home at dark. When I got low on gas, my dad would often send me to a small station about 3 miles away on the four wheeler to fill up.

My 10 year old niece can’t even go outside alone and I’m not sure I’ll be any better when my son gets that’s age. Too much to worry about these days.

My entire "youth" was a risk! Clackers, jumping ramps on bikes, playing with gas, tag with BB guns, messin with venomous snakes, running from the police, Whipperwill Hollow (Bluffs from 20-60 ft above the Tennessee River in Sheffield, AL. along with a rope swing that would wrap around you if not held correctly!), crossing the Tennessee River during a thunderstorm, in an aluminum canoe, drinking, at night with no lights! Just thinking about it, I'm damn lucky to be alive!!
Imagine... from this....

Tell me about it. Damn wasp nest and spiders loved to build nest in the rafters. The good thing was you were toughened up by the end of summer so football practice was a piece of cake.

I'm about to be 35...
-Go cart racing in the church parking lot down the street, you can still see rubber marks.
-Lots of makeshift BMX ramps, no helmet of course.
-BB Gun wars
-Riding my bike everywhere, no helmet, never really said where I was going.
-Following the small creek down the street all the way to the Etowah.
-Lots of wrestling.
-Climbing the mimosa trees
-Shooting an arrow up in the air, first one to bail lost.
-Used to have an affinity of playing in my step dads reloading room. Would smack rifle and shotgun primers with a hammer, have some hearing damage because of that. Played with lots of gunpowder.

My kids haven't really experienced any of this, world is different than when I was their age.

cherry bombs, m80's and those metal mailboxes just seemed to go together
and in later years I have had to replace my mailbox about 20 ties before I bought a leggo style break apart, pop back mailbox, was Karma getting me back I reckon. The last time my went boom someone had placed a PVC pipe bomb filled with firecracker powder, it blew the front door over 50 yards into pasture across street.
