sea foam is glorified alcohol, be very careful with it. it can cause engine damage if you use to much.
the best i have found in both diesel and gas is marvel mystery oil. you can get a big bottle for under 5 bucks, dump it in and go. it will clean and lube the fuel system. i have seen it free up frozen injector pumps on diesel tractors,and even free up gas in tank electric fuel pumps.
add to much sea foam,lean out,burn a valve or piston,blow a head gasket, marvel works better,costs less, and is oil based. add to much and it will just smoke a little...

I normally buy the 12 oz or 16oz and dump whole thing in fuel tank fuel

the great thing about marvel is its oil based. i add a big bottle (32oz) every couple of tanks of fuel. i have a 05 duramax with a 20 gal tank. but you could add a gallon and not hurt anything.

Todays diesels do require additives
Anyone tells you different isnt educated

Those that refuse are those that comes to the shop with needing $3500 or more in repairs

Spend less now and buy additives and can cut expensive cost down in future

I have added Amsoil to my 2003 Duramax.

I have occasionally added Seafoam to my gas vehicles but never done so to my diesel.

I use diesel kleen and tcw3 ashless marine 2 stroke oil on my 7.3

I thought I would ask my brothers on ODT what's the best diesel fuel additive.

What year and brand is it? May make a difference. Lots of replies for older diesels that may not be applicable to newer Emmisions equipped models.
