Dirtbike Maintenance

Start reading one of the forums for your bike. It will take a lot of maintenance. It is easy to destroy that engine and gearbox. You will need to do some maintenance every time that you ride it if you want it to be reliable. If you do not learn how to take care of it, you are not going to have much fun and spend a lot of money.

You can but most of those dirt bikes run better at 40:1...so maybe 7 oz of mixing oil in 2 gallons. Run high test gas...92 to 93 octane...leaded if you can find it.

The motocross racers in our club back in the 70s ran aviation gas from the airport. More expensive but you aren't using a lot either.

Sell it and get a 4 stroke. Unless you are racing, which I believe everyone races 4 strokes now, those 2 strokes are not ideal for trail riding, or general putting around. They require more maintenance, and are too high strung unless you are screaming around a track.
