Discipline or too extreme??

DEFACS and LE need to just mind their own business. A father fianlly takes the time to think up a punishment to "get through" to his son and the world spins him as a bad guy.

My son 17 y.o. never got spanked. Once he was a teen he did do many tire flips, sprints, push-ups, standing stangnet shoulder presses with landscape timber and his most hated digging a huge hole and filling it back up. All in whatever weather we had at the time. I never limited water but I did monitor any rest periods so they were too a minimum.

Well, we can be damned sure that whatever problems the kid was having will not get fixed now. This is BS. I applaud that father for trying to save his son. As for the kid not having any water and being unsafe, note that the article says that when LE saw the kid a second time and in the middle of the night, the father was WITH the kid.

Because of interference with this father, that kid may very well be screwed for life, rather than learning discipline and becoming a good human being. This is another example of the *****fication of America

Man I hear ya. What has this country come to when this is considered cruel or "going too far"? Back in the old days those kids would have laughed at this "punishment". We really are a bunch of queefin' jelly rolls nowadays.

My Dad told me when he was a kid he threw a lit firecracker into a State patrolman's car while the man was sitting there eating his lunch. The trooper got out and gave my Dad a whipping. Then he told my Dad to go home and tell my Grandad what he did. When he got home and told my Grandad, he got another whipping.

It's that man's child. Let him raise him, cause when the kid turns out bad everyone will point at the parents. I'm a military brat. Daddy did things his way…it didn't take long before my brothers and I did it his way too.

:confused: He should be given credit for taking the time to discipline his kid and not beating the s**t out of him.Idiot ***** judges and government officials should mind their own bees wax!

Judge Joel Dodson said this;

"This is a somewhat unusual case," Dodson said. "I don't know what will work in terms of discipline for the child, but I can assure you that this isn't one of them."

How the hell does he know what will work?

Maybe the man should just give the kid to DEFAC and see if they can make it work.
Government in all their knowledge.
At least he was trying and didn't just the kid to roam the streets. JMHO

Not sure ANY gov't run program is ever the answer. But like you said, He was trying. And I guess that Judge never went to Boot-camp. However, bootcamp does ensure that you have plenty of water at all times, even make you drink it til you spew it back up. Not sure that pace would actually dehydrate anyone.
