Do GA LEOs have to give their badge number if asked?

Take your smart phone and snap a quick picture of the LEO....much better than a badge number.

in my experience asking for a badge number gets them all pissy (how dare you citizen...err umm...civilian ask a question of me!?) but then again they rarely like me and the feeling is usually mutual.

Lol! Yeah, snapping a picture of the cop with your iPhone won't make him pissy at all...haha
I deal with law enforcement on almost a daily basis in almost every county surrounding metro Atlanta. While I have come across a few bad apples over the years, I would have to say the OVERWHELMING majority are good guys. That is not to say they are saints (though who amongst us really are), but all in all, decent human beings getting underpaid for the amount of BS they have to deal with and are ultimately accountable for every day. Just my .02 cents.

If they are underpaid they should do something else and save themselves the torture you describe.

"It is difficult to free fools from the chains the revere" Voltaire.

So let me get this straight....because they are underpaid for the amount of BS they endure we are supposed to feel sorry for them? Find another line of work if you don't like it. No...positions like LEO attract those seeking power over others. Why else would you put up with low wages and BS for a JOB????

Are there some good ones out there? Sure but if they were really "good guys" why would they not correct the action instead of letting it go unabated? Good Guys don't let bad guys do bad things correct? is that not the basic definition of a good guy?

I say snap the picture or take video....if you aren't brave enough to deal with the consequences then you do not deserve the freedom you take for granted.

Lol....anti LEO guys have to be most uptight and miserable people on the internet....always typing in caps lock and arguing with people.....seems like an exhausting hobby.

Go to the gym....you will feel better booboo.

If you get a citation, the badge number is on it.
99% will gladly give the badge number if ask.

And, as much as I bash LEOs on here, there are 10 fold more good than bad. People only hear about the bad just like with gun violence. I ac would have thought this community would be a little wiser or slower to judge being as this community is constantly judged.

Good point. I come across a few guys now and then in the gun community that I don't even want to be around and hope people don't view as being the norm or lump me in with those types. I'm certain that a lot of police officers feel the same way about certain members of their own fraternity but the best they can do is try and set a better example. Again, no matter what field of work you are talking about, there will always be good honest people you deal with and some crooked ones. Very possibly, the OP's personal experiences have been far different than mine, but I would venture to guess that mine are more in line with the majority of people here.
