Do Glocks have safeties?

I'm sure this has already been said, but manually operated gun safeties do not make a firearm.more safe. Two recent negligent discharges were on firearms considered naturally safe, either due to a manual safety or a heavy and long trigger pull. By not having a safety, it forces you to exercise caution and use gun safety, rather than to depend on a feature. Utilize a proper holster and you will remove the chance of something jarring the trigger. If you carry iwb, pay special attention when holstering. Having a gun loaded without a safety is only dangerous if you are careless.

Caught my 5 year old pulling a chair up to the fridge and climbing on top of it. (years ago) Just saying, be careful, but I know what you mean.

Why would you put a gun on a fridge? height, hidden etc should never be used to prevent a child from having an accident. I keep mine in a safe, 8 digits that only.my wife and I know. Also, teach them about guns. If he's pulling up to the fridge, it means he OS curious, and you must teach him before he finds out the wrong way.

Am I missing something here? G17 serial number starts FUK (I love that part ;) )

Awesome serial!

No, you're not. I have a G19 that you can see it plain as day. I've got another from 2011 that doesn't show it unless you hold it at an angle. I'll snap a pic sometime and see if it shows.

You hear your door get kicked in, you run to your safe to try and put in your 8 digit code in the dark. 8 seconds to punch that code in could matter, and that is if you get it on the first try. My safe locks you out after 3 tries and you can't try again for 5 min.

That was definitely not a call out or anything, just an honest observation about my gun. I never knew that Glock 17's came with manual safties.

It also has keyed back up. This also happens to be my nightstand safe, I can guarantee that I can get in at a moments notice, I crack it open atleast 3 times a day and it has keyed backup, and I set my keys on the nightstand (where my safe sits). The purpose of that safe isn't theft prevention, as when no ones home, no guns are in it. The sole purpose of that safe is to keep my toddler out. I will not be that gun owner on the news for having his toddler blow himself away because I left my gun carelessly laying somewhere.
