I tend to think we do.. At 51 I have owned several

66 GTO

67 Tempest w/675hp 400eng

70 Camaro z28

71 mustang boss

All were awesome cars in their own right and all were very fast and fun to drive...in a straight line..

But what we forget is the did not stop and did not handle.

With the new modern muscle cars you get the both of both worlds speed handling and stopping power and even decent mpg.. The problem with the newer muscle cars is number 1 price and number 2 I don't think these mass produced muscles cars will even be as collectible as the their older counterparts number 3 soulless for the most part..

While I would love to have my old goat back as far as a daily driver I would rather have a G8 or Caddie CTSV..

What muscle cars have you owned or own?

69 coronet r/t. 440 w/3 dueces

I can relate to what you said about handling and braking. Still though....would love to have that one back

66 Mustang was a pleasure to drive. Could do a U turn on a wide 2 lane road. I'm pretty sure you meant the '70 boss.

you are correct I have owned over 100 cars and trucks mostly trucks they all run together sometimes.. I had a 71 mustang fastback

Ford actually made around 2000 boss mustangs in 71

A 70 440 Cuda,3 71 318 Barracuda,a 76 Vette,76 Transam, the new ones ares above and beyond anything from the 60s and 70s in all aspects including performance but they will never have the cool factor of the old ones.

Yeah newer ones are better in some respects, but they were the best available during their time, just as I imagine future innovations will make later cars better for that time. I love the old stuff but the newer cars are a lot easier to drive.

one of my favorite muscles cars didn't quite start out as a muscle car..

Had a 1977 Monza Spider 2+2 I put a built 350 and turbo 350 trans in had 3:73 posi and was pretty darn fast..

You forgot to add they suck to work on/fix.
I still have my 71 Chevelle that I bought when I was 17. It will be my daughters 1 day.
