Do you carry without a round chambered?

Decade on a Glock, with various breaks here or there. IWB leather, kydex, neoprene, OWB the same always round in pipe never ND. I'm willing to run any risk anyone can create for running a weapon in battery. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Pay attentention when you do things and you can have a full life of condition 1 carry. There's countless Active self protection videos on YouTube showing people getting hammered pulling guns out of battery. Drawing on a drawn gun is like ice skating backwards up hill without adding the effort of putting your weapon into battery. There's a few of Israeli boys slinging theirs out and racking it and dropping a dude too but their's involved more wasted movements and more risk of failure in my opinion.

Yes, the Israelis do not carry with a round in the chamber of their Glocks, but that doesn't mean it's a good thing to do. I've trained with both the IDF and one of their government security arms. Some things they do exceptionally well; others.........not so much.

The Israeli mindset is a weird one and you can't get them to change their mind. We did a scenario with Simunitions where one of our guys jumped on their guy and tangled one of their arms up, while another assailant simulated stab him repeatedly. The Israeli was able to get his gun out of the holster early in the engagement, but was not able to chamber a round one-handed while fighting at the same time.

I can say just about the same thing about Ayoob. I like a lot of what he espouses.......other stuff; meh.

Really?

That's going to come as a surprise to the entire Israeli army. (and several other armies and police forces around the world.)

Here's what the Justin Beiber of the gun world, Massad Ayoob has to say on the subject:

“Condition Three does have its place for carry, however. If I am carrying a gun like a Glock, which does not have a manual safety per se, and do not have access to a holster which covers the trigger guard (as is strongly recommended by the Glock factory), and have to shove the gun into my waistband, I'll make sure the chamber is empty.”
What kind of of idiot carries with out a holster in the waist band? Oh yeah...gang bangers.

Also, just because the Israelis do it doesn't mean it right. They are stupid for carrying with out a round in the chamber if that is true, especially with all of the terrorist attacks they face. You get no tactical advantage to not having one in the pipe.

Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. "SIMPLE". But shoot you weapon when ever you can be familiar with how fast you can safely put it on target not to harm innocent individuals. Say what you mean and mean what you say and shoot to kill not to injure and reload. You might live to see another day understanding the @$%%$^ that was robbing you or breaking in your house does not give a crap about you or your family. Disassemble and clean your weapon like it is your best friend. If you are sympathetic to a dog with rabies it just might bite you. Sometimes the POPO aint there to protect you !! Locked and loaded. OK JUST A COUPLE OF WORDS OF WISDOM FROM A OLD FART . ! Wife says I am cruel so feed them to the Gators ..after a while, kill gators to feed the hungry. Solution to world hunger.

Its all about advantages. Tactics will save you. Being a great shot is fine, but if you don't have every advantage to get in the fight as quickly as possible its a waste. That's what I believe, anyway.
