1911s are for those who appreciate a clean, crisp trigger and appreciate the craftsmanship of truly proven weapon and know the first shot will do the job effectively.

If the first shot always works, run with an empty mag. it will lighten your carry weight.

That's going to come as a surprise to the entire Israeli army. (and several other armies and police forces around the world.)

Here's what the Justin Beiber of the gun world, Massad Ayoob has to say on the subject:

“Condition Three does have its place for carry, however. If I am carrying a gun like a Glock, which does not have a manual safety per se, and do not have access to a holster which covers the trigger guard (as is strongly recommended by the Glock factory), and have to shove the gun into my waistband, I'll make sure the chamber is empty.”

Personally I agree with him, I would never chamber a round and carry without a holster with a gun with no safety. That's makes sense. But I never carry without a holster... I carry a 1911 Condition One.

All the time. If your not sure whether you should carry one in the chamber, then you should probably reconsider even carrying the firearm to begin with.

Always carry chambered, just like the PoPo...no safety either....just something else to slow you down.

the only reason i carry one in the chamber is because i cant carry two!!!
