Load'em to the max. Especially when I carry. What's the point of giving yourself a -1 disadvantage when that extra round could save your life!

Wow, everybody's sure set in their way. Who would have thought 1 round would be so important one way or another. All I have to say is whichever method you choose, do a bunch of reloads to make sure you can do it under stress 100%. A tap rack doesn't fix a dropped mag.
And don't shoot the **** television.

Long long ago, and far far away: when I was in the Navy, the Marines had us load 45 mags w/6 rounds.

Rifle Mags are full, all pistol mag not made in korea are full+1 in the camber, korean mags are -5 and for the range only.

Never had an issues with factory mags, but ive been told about the -1 for hi cap mags.

I wish I had a video showing some of the students at our range hitting their new full loaded glock mags. 3,4,5 times hard & still not getting them to seat properly. When some mags. are new they are hard to load as well as seat until they are broken in.
I can't count the number of times that "tacticool" guys have came out with their mags. loaded full & had them not fully seat on a closed slide during a drill & fall to the deck.
If that doesn't happen with your gun & mags. that's great but it's a common occurrence for many new shooters with new gear.
We see it in classes time & time again until the shooters & their gear get broken in.

If not loaded properly the followers will bind a bit. Most of the time seating the rounds about every 5 or so will allieviate that issue. On the pd range with new glock 22s oFficers were having the same issue until they started doing that then no issues afterwards.

For certain drills however you will download the mags accordingly.
