Do you flash lights to warn traffic of speed traps??

No . . . no, not really . . .

9 out of 10 times - Me: Is there any reason for your speed? Violator: "I just wasn't paying attention".

. . . or their "speedometer doesn't work" (40-8-8)

. . . but I did stop one woman very clearly in labor, headed to the hospital - she was motivated to get somewhere.
Honesty works, got caught in Montana and pulled in front of him before he pulled out.
When asked why I pulled over "I was speeding and you caught me"

Got a warning:)

Wow . . NO. The speed limit is for a dry and sunny day - then when you crash on the rainy night I write you for Too Fast For Conditions in addition to Following Too Closely or Failure To Maintain lane, or Failure To Obey Traffic Control Device - because, while you weren't "Speeding", No person shall drive a vehicle at a speed greater than is reasonable and prudent under the conditions and having regard for the actual and potential hazards then existing.

The speed limit is good for 99% of conditions unless there is a downpour or thick fog. It is not my imagination when everyone is driving the speed limit on a rainy day/night and they make it just fine. It's all good until the fool that has bald tires decides to hit the wet highway at 70.

Absolutely the worst thing you can do is assume that other driver's are the same as yourself. I promise that after 8 years of doing LEO and 6 years of FIRE/EMS, you truly have no idea who is behind the wheel of that 4,000 lbs of metal coming at you at 60 mph. I can give you all the statistics in the world and your opinion will never change until it does, and unfortunately that is only when you or your family become a victim. Statistically that will probably happen to at least a couple members of this forum - such is life. If you feel like you should warn people, then fine, stick it to the man and flash your lights until they blow - just remember, you are warning the unlicensed, the suspended, the wanted, the non-insured, the crew that just robbed your neighborhood, the stolen vehicles, the meth carriers, and pretty much every kind of person that gets b""ched about on these forums. - - Whatever you decide to do, just don't be a hypocrite and one day start a thread about a bad driver who crashed into you and the police should have stopped them . . . hypocrites really piss me off . . .

MOST of the time I'm just letting someone know there's a tax agent ahead that's trying to steal their stuff or their money.

I thought that a court has ruled that flashing lights at another motorist was protected free speech?
You think that’s gonna keep a cop from stopping you and harassing the hell out of you?

I had one hassle the hell out of me at a DUI checkpoint last Friday night for no reason at all other than the fact that I’m admittedly a rough looking SOB and I drive an old beater Honda. LOL!

He ordered me to pull out of the line of cars and onto the shoulder and demanded to know how much I’d had to drink that day and how much alcohol I had in the car (None and none).

He kept me there for about 10 minutes talking **** and telling me several different lies trying to get me to confess to a variety of different crimes.

The “best” lie he told me was that a fellow cop had called him and told him to be watching for my car to come through the checkpoint because he had followed me for several miles and I was weaving and driving like a maniac.

The whole ordeal ended with him not being able to get me to falsely confess to any crimes and me being once again reminded why I ****ing hate cops.

SMFH

I hope that MFer gets cancer and dies a slow agonizing death.

I value your opinion....I really do. It really is good to see and hear both sides.

I don't actually know if LEO's have quota's to fill but it seems as they do because it seems as if they are out in force at the end of every month.....just like today in Roswell. They are everywhere!
