WHAT?? 47 yrs old, smoke, caffeine , sex, drugs, rock n roll (lol) ..... Partial deafness in right ear from childhood trauma...it rings. Left ear on and off. Just comes on lightly n gets more intense for an hour or so then fades....never got an explanation of it. Just learned to deal with it. Ole lady yells at me to turn down the t.v. /stereo all the time but WTF.... I did spend a large part of teenage years and 20's leaning against concert amps, working shows.

I didn't even realize I had this until I saw William Shatner talking about it one day. Dammit JIM!!!!!! Have noticed in my recent years hearing much more affected by loud noises and music. A gunshot will deafen one of my ears for an hour or so. Never leave without hearing protection. Hunt with electronic headphones so I can still hear. I use these when I shoot trap or skeet: http://www.surefire.com/ep5-sonic-defenders-max.html - for the money they are the best ear protection I have found. Asked my doctor about it and he said; the treatment was worse than the problem if I had already learned to deal with it. To my best recollection, my ears have always done this so I have grown accustomed to it pretty well.
