Do You Remember Which One was You First One?

But then, in 1999, I had to get my “Nextel Radio” which was the “fever” of the moment and everyone driving a truck should carry one…bahahahaha…, who still remember the beeping sound around town and at gas stations? Hahahahaha….

#7 was my first but I loved #14 my Razor. Kept it until it would no longer hold a charge. Had it a long time. When I went to the phone store to get a new one, the two young guys working there were fascinated to see it, like it was an archeological find...

My first was a boost mobile motorola i415. Back then boost mobile was the prepaid version of nextel. I never used it as a phone and always as a walkie talkie. Back then the walkie talkie was the way to go... I still have it somewhere.

#4 in the OP's photo.

Motorola TAC series.

These models introduced a flip design, wherein the mouthpiece was embedded in a plastic flap. The flap protected the number pad when closed and ensured the microphone was positioned nearer the owner’s mouth when open. The flip design was far more compact when compared to brick- or bar-style phones.

I think my service plan cost me $24 a month just to stay active on the cellular network and I had zero "free" calls!
Instead, each call made or received would cost me 10 CENTS a minute.

My Motorola pager service had only cost six dollars a month, and I didn't mind carrying around a pocket full of quarters to return those messages, but eventually in the mid-1990s public payphone started disappearing. So I had to get a cellphone.
