Do you smile?

Bellevue WA .... hmm. idk

LOL... TheSAF is the real deal... The most effective 2A organization we have today.

Got a link? I’d like to hear from some of these 2A foundations as to how much they have received.

Well, here's a link from the Amazon side.

And a story critical of it. Not that the funds weren't being given, but for other reasons.

I guess if you want to verify with SAF and email would probably do it. The article above mentions that were not talking a fortune here. It's half a penny per dollar spent. As you can see from my screen cap above, it's not a ton, but it's more than would have gone to them without it.

I cant find SAF on the list? Is it 2A or Second Amend?

Nevermind - Found em.

That’s great. GOA gets twice the charity rating from what I can find. But we know the internet is no longer credible. I’ll keep giving to GOA though.

When GOA takes a case like Heller to the Supreme Court and wins, overturning 70+ years of BS about the Second being a 'collective', not an individual right like all the others, let us all know.

Feel free to donate to them, but don't expect anything out of them except rhetoric and a few letters to various politicians.

BTW... if you want to see something refreshing, take a look at the SAF's financials page (it's posted on their website). According to their tax filing the CEO of the SAF was paid a little over $40K last year. Not enough to buy WLP a pair of pants to go with his suit...

I am skeptical about people who say that "all your money goes where you send it". Back when I was "union stupid", I was on the board of a big union and we told people that all the money the donated to united way went where they directed it to go. It was a lie and is still a lie. All the money went into a general fund and they doled it out as they saw fit. Same here?!?!? I trust very few people and fewer originations like that.

I'm just not sold on the "CMP" being that "private" I could be wrong....hope I am

The federal law enacted in 1996 (Title 36 U. S. Code, 40701-40733) that created the Corporation for the Promotion of Rifle Practice and Firearms Safety, Inc.

The Secretary of the Army shall provide logistical support to the Civilian Marksmanship Program for competitions and other activities. The corporation shall reimburse the Secretary for incremental direct costs incurred in providing logistical support. The reimbursements shall be credited to the appropriations account of the Department of the Army that is charged to provide the logistical support.

CMP history goes back to late 19th century efforts by U.S. military and political leaders to strengthen our country’s national defense capabilities by improving the rifle marksmanship skills of members of the Armed Forces.

Technically, it’s a 501c3 non-profit corporation. I still believe they will be fine

If you have a concern, I would contact your charity and ask them if they have been getting anything from being a member in the 'Smile' program. It's something they have to sign up for so they must have someone there who knows how much they get from it.

You are right about United Way, and I'm sure other nonprofits are like that as well. I doubt this is since as I said above, the liability would be too huge for a company like Amazon, but I don;t have any proof.

So I emailed the Second Amendment Foundation and got back this reply...

Thank you for your donations through this program. SAF does indeed receive funds from Smile.
