Do you tell police you have a gun in the car?

Not sure if this has been asked, but I did a quick search and couldn't find it.
How many of you let the officer know you are armed if you get pulled over? What do you tell them if you do?

Nah -just lengthens the stop and potentially makes things even more tense.

if they want to search the car i would,but i was at a remote campground with the family (grilling,trout fishing,etc) & i was carrying & laying in the hammock & some game wardens came up wanted to check my GORP pass & then i told them as i was getting out of the hammock that i was carrying & they said no prob & asked if i had a carry lic which i do.....no probs they went on their way.
