Do you tell police you have a gun in the car?

I give them my license, my insurance card, my GFL, my debit card, my triple A card and my Kroger card. I then place all my items out on the burm for inspection. After all I have nothing to hid.
I also pre-cuff myself for their safety. After all these heroes need to make it home safe at night.

Do they have a card reader in the ar$e? Is there a key pad there, or is it run as credit?

I don't tell without being asked or one of the conditions I posted earlier to avoid misunderstandings for the same reason I don't open carry...its no one's business but mine....
I made a living carrying weapons for 36 years..don't feel the need to advertise.

Every time. When I get pulled over I lower my windows, turn on inside lights (at night), place the vehicle in park, place both my hands where they can be seen (either out the window or on the steering wheel and wait for them to come up before I move.

That part I do and then I hope they are former Marines and see my very small EGA on the rear window. Driving safely helps as well.....
