Do your part to educate and convert!

I took a couple to the range today to teach basic SD with a handgun. The wife was very nervous and frightened of the weapon. Within a few hours she was clearly having a great time and was in friendly competition with her husband. Though she retained proper respect for the handgun she no longer feared it at all. Then I pulled out the AR15 just for some fun at the end of the day.

I thought she might faint! All of her fear and nervousness returned 3 fold. She was asking all of the classic anti-gun propaganda questions. "Why would anyone need one of these for self defense?" "It just looks evil and scary."

We had a conversation, I got her to shoot it and after a few mags, I asked if she would prefer the handgun or the AR to protect her home and children. By the time we were done she was asking what would be a reasonable cost for an AR.

Don't write someone off just because they have fallen for the left's BS. Educate!

Nice job. Information is power.

And their gonna ask you to be more open too lol

Nah, they know better...Besides, I'm not asking them to be more open to guns. I'm simply educating them about their rights and why all Americans should exercise those rights. Whether they embrace their own freedom is up to them.

I am open to whatever liberal crap they want to talk about. It gives me the opportunity to convince them otherwise and it's a lot more likely I can because I have just shown the that the left is full of **** about guns.

My wife helps introduce her friends to the joys and responsibilities of self defense shooting (and shooting for fun) and gun ownership. After a session of having her knitting group shoot pistols, I pulled out my wife's AR. They all had fun, but the one woman that was at first the most timid was the one with the biggest grin on her face.

Seriously, as she pulled the trigger faster and faster the grin on her face got bigger and bigger!

The next day her husband called to thank me, now they "neeeeeded" an AR!

Job Well Done.

I often see that same effect. The one that has the most trepidation at the beginning of the day ends up having the most fun.
