Does anyone actually shop at a gun shop anymore?

They’ve got more selection in one store than you’ve ever seen
They brag about having over 10,000 guns in stock and I believe it

Most times it's hard to come up with $600, $700, or $800 in one chunk for something I really can't live without so I've bought a lot of guns on layaway from Cherokee G&P and Hi Caliber.

Hi Caliber is a little on the pricey side... The owner is a great guy and very friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to use them for a possible future purchase if they carried some items that I was looking for.

Occasionally I will buy something from a gunship. My tastes have skyrocketed so it's difficult to find something that rings my bell. I comb ODT for deals on stuff, have not come up with much in the last 6 months. I never buy to sell, I just get bored and find something else. I have a few honey holes around that do nice consignment stuff....my favorite places.

I will never spend money on anything gun related at places like Bass Pro Shop, Cabelas, DEFINITELY not Dicks or Fish and Stream. I prefer to support my local, smaller gun stores in my general area and if they cannot get me what I want, which is rare, I will go online to other smaller dealers.

I like to try to keep my money in local circulation, supporting local jobs, whenever I can.

Not exactly local to me but well worth the drive is CG&P. I've brought guns from them, my G19, S&W MP15-22, a couple of suppressors not for a while. I've probably had them transfer just as many guns though. A couple no one locally could come close to like a new Beretta 92FS for $440 shipped! That was from a gun store down in Florida.

I bought the very first handgun I ever owned from them
When I was living in Talbot county in the late 80s

I had some trouble with the jealous ex boyfriend of a chick I was dating and cleaned out my bank account and took all $136 with me ,
Dumped it on the counter and said I wanna buy a gun

Walked out with a new charter arms
.38 and a box of Ammo and a IWB holster

Next stop was the sheriffs office to get the CCW and while I was there the sheriff walked In And asked why I was getting a permit
Told him I’d had some problems with a jealous boyfriend and he wanted to know the details and the guys name

I told him and he said
Not the first time I’ve heard this about that guy
I’m gonna go have a talk with him right now , if he gives you any more trouble , call me and I will arrest him

handed me his business card and wrote his home phone number on the back

Never had any more problems with the guy

Had problems with the chick though

Few months later I was walking out the door of my single wide , headed to my bandit trans am , to go to work and the phone rings , (I had finally saved up enough $ to get it turned on ) and a former co worker and friend calls
“Yell-o”

“Hey, you still dating that Cindy girl ?”

“ yeah , she just left , she spent the night here last night “

“Uh , you better sit down “

“Uh. Ok “

“ you know I’m staying at my parents house for a while after my surgery , and I’m eating breakfast , and yesterday’s mail is on the table .”

“Yeah ?”

“ my mom just got an invitation to her wedding this Saturday “
