Looks a lot like a modern 10-round mag for a Savage 62 or 64 .22 LR rifle.

No, the Marlin 795 short mags all have round holes in the sides, and don't have the slot along the back edge like the OP's clip magazine.
Pretty sure that's a .22 Mossberg 702 Plinkster
