There's no such thing as a "legal trade" if one party to the deal is a prohibited person under federal law, per the disqualifiers found in 18 U.S.C. 922g (3).

For what it's worth, marijuana IS listed in Schedule I as one of the hundreds of "controlled substances" that triggers a gun ban for users of such drugs.
