Does "Pre-Ban" mean anything anymore?

So I had a fella ask me if my Colt was pre-ban and if so he'd be interested in it. Told him I'd check the serial number but it got me thinking and I asked a few friends if that still meant anything. One of them told me that I could potentially sell it to someone in Massachusetts for gobs of money because Pre-Ban was still grandfathered in there.

That true? I thought most of these post ban states that kept the regulations had a "Register or Destroy" period and after that nothing would be allowed in no matter the date. Could I double my money or better on this gun in one of these states? Cause I can just buy a regular old rifle for myself if that's the case and flip this Colt while the flipping is still good.

The lower alone on a preban is worth a grand to people in Massachusetts and Connecticut. That’s the only way they get to play.

Depending on which model colt it is and what originally that came with it that you still have it could easily bring north of 2k.

All Colts bring a premium.

It can for some things. Pre-ban FAL's and AK's can bring good money. Chinese AK's are a good example of that.

Pre ban means nothing to me, just a way to ask more $$$ for something I can and will get cheaper.
