Does your dog eat from your plate?

so I'm dog sitting for two nights and while I've been eating dinner this little dog has been scratching / clawing my arm for some food.
100% I always sit at the table, tonight I wanted to keep her company on the couch.
Now my arm is bleeding ......................advise pls !

My bird eats with me. Has eaten from my plate for 25+ years now.

Nope, zero animals eat from my plate. I might put some in her bowl after I finish however.

I don't have a dog so this is kinda like people who don't have kids saying how to raise them, but, if I had a dog it would not eat from a plate and would never be given food while we were eating. I believe this both encourages begging and confuses the dog as to who is boss.

If you have a crate put the dog in it during eating times, allow them a few treats so they do not raise to much sand. Did you ask the owners where is the dog at during eating times and where is the dogs eating area at?

My kids don't eat off my plate. They have manners and so does my dog.

big ass negative, all of my animals know better than to sit there and beg but they do get scraps so they have learned to wait patiently. now as soon as im done and start moving towards the bowls the cats wont shut the **** up but at least thats afterwards
