I would go .22 cal if I were you. Its my go to for dispatching what we get around here. I would also stay subsonic and find a pellet the gun likes. Most air rifle pellets get unstable and innacurate going trans-sonic. If you really can't find the coin, try to but quality but stay used to get more bank for the buck.
Might next time if I dig the air guns, I just got it cause in my neighborhood we have a pond surrounded by woods, and don't want to provoke trouble with a loud ass rifle, and the ammo/rifle is cheap vs powder. Did read about the air force texan now that's a gun.

I cannot hit "like" more than once, so I'm replying. Try it first with some backup. Seriously.
I read up on reddit its not so great of an idea, but for my next gun imma probably get a 50 cal muzzleloader pistol to keep back up up to a deer without lugging me down or a 22lr bolt action with some subs as primary while still being quiet.

You're going to get a 50 cal ML pistol for what exactly?
