They can't let schools be protected, because dead kids are just a tool. They don't want safe schools, they just want to disarm the opposition. Actually making schools safe is counter productive for them. And more cops in schools arresting criminals? Well, that's just hurting their future voting base.

That second article discusses children of color being uneasy around police. How about if they could actually meet good cops and the police could interact with all the children in a positive way and start breaking down these stereotypes? How about that?
