Are you a dealer on here suggesting that individuals conducting a private transaction are required to check IDs? :confused2:

Perhaps I just feel that an individual has an obligation to abide by the intent of the law. Personally don’t care how some one else conducts themselves. However I do recall the folks at the Collinsville flea market going to jail because they were interpreting the law for their own benefit. Just not my cup of tea.

Well as long as your feelz don't get upset, then I guess it's ok...

Guy I sold two pistols to a year apart, offered up his licence without me asking for it and later on was investigated for international gun running.
Proves nothing.

You should’ve gotten a bill of sell. Aliens would’ve dropped down from orbit to communicate that the other party was a soon-to-be-perp. Bill of Cell is just that powerful.

"Knowingly" being the keyword there...
I have personally bought and sold hundreds of firearms to and from individuals without ever being asked for ID nor did I ever ask for ID...
Never had any repercussions from any sale... I've had a Georgia weapons carry license in this state for over 30 years... I don't break the law.... I know what works for me and the best you can do is what works for you...
Feedback: 1.....LOL

There is this LAW that says a FELON cannot posses a firearm. But they can posses a DL. How do you tell the fake DL/CCW from the real one? The law states you cannot knowingly sell to a felon. Not that you have to ensure they are or are not on a govt list somewhere. But at the end of the day - do what you feel is best. And miss out on a lot of law abiding traders because of it as well.

Same here. I understand wanting to take a look at a license or permit to ease your mind that you aren’t accidentally selling to a felon or something. A quick peek at the CCW shows that I’ve passed a background check.
Your word against theirs if it ever comes to anything
