I went into two different gun stores in the past week and over heard the dealer tell a customer not to dry fire a brand new pistol they were looking at. While I agree rimfire pistols/rifles should not be dry fired (exception of some Rugers), I understand that it is only older firearms that can not be dry fired. Most modern day pistols can be dry fired without any problems...

Just a tell-tale sign the dealer doesn't know his product very well....

This is one of those :deadhorse: subjects I'm sure...

Maybe it's more about safety or because people looking around seeing a man dry firing a gun 100 times and then says he will pass on buying it.The one waiting might wanna buy it and ask for another one that hasn't been dry fired 100 times just now.The owner says that is it, the man leaves and company lost a sale because of it....seen this many times.

I was waiting to buy a gun and waited til this first couple looked and hope they didn't buy it as it was the last one.I saw the man push the mag release and the mag hit the concrete floor. The guy holding said well I guess I have to buy this now.Hands it back and wonders off in the store. The clerk said here you go, and started to hand me the gun.I declined and said why and left.

Good reason to ask for a discount!!! :D

I don't want a gun if I have to worry because the magazine hit the floor once.

I saw a man that demanded to get one out of the safe because he stated he didn't want the one in the case because he just saw a man touching it and felt like it was used now...Some people just have their own ways, silly as they can be it's their money.
