I went into two different gun stores in the past week and over heard the dealer tell a customer not to dry fire a brand new pistol they were looking at. While I agree rimfire pistols/rifles should not be dry fired (exception of some Rugers), I understand that it is only older firearms that can not be dry fired. Most modern day pistols can be dry fired without any problems...
Just a tell-tale sign the dealer doesn't know his product very well....
