Duck season

That’s mostly what we get too. Occasional big ducks show up every now and then. Last year I got a rather uncommon Ga Pintail drake! He’s a Boykin Spaniel. I raise them. Good in the swamp and murder on a dove field!

Wow that’s awesome! What part of the state do you hunt? A buddy of mine killed a STUD pintail drake on a pond in Oglethorpe back when we were in high school. I didn’t realize until I started getting into duck hunting how special that was for GA.

Ever hunt lake chatuge? I’m going up to hiawassee for thanksgiving and thought about taking my kayak up and giving it a try.

Pretty good morning on the duck pond! Saw about 20 woodies but only manage to hit this hen. Got back to the car and ol peter cottontail was eating on some hay so I took him for the pot too. Got one more spot I’m gonna stop on my way home and try to jump shoot the rest of my limit of woodies.

It’s hard for a bird to find enough water to rest on around here. All the typical roost areas are dry.

A lot of water around my area that doesn’t get hunted, UGA land and some private. good looking swamps but you can’t get permission on them

Yessir, everything on the river or on Redlands gets hit hard but there is refuge on some of the private land for them. I really want to try out lake oconee but idk if I want to paddle that for in a kayak in the dark lol
