Dum-as lowballers

IIRC it was about $25 less than we agreed on and it was a bit of a drive as Atlanta is a big place. I'm quite sure he figured I'd go ahead and make the sale anyway - not a freaking chance. BTW, the person had good feedback (this was back in the classic GON days) so you can never tell...

I'm quickly learning that the new GON trading site is full of tards. Theres no feedback or way to see which member is contacting you. You can still sell things there but its really hit and miss.

Theres nothing wrong with lowballing as long as you do it respectfully. Dont make up dumb excuses like that guy did with me. Just make the offer and let the money talk. As a matter of fact I'm on my way to look at a truck and plan to lowball the dealership quite a bit. No way I'm paying the sticker price in this economy. You can throw that Kelly Blue Book out the window.

I listed a gun a while back for $500. Guy hits me up with a $400 dollar offer. I say no thanks. He hits me back up and ask for my bottom dollar on it. I agree to meet him in the middle at $450. He agrees and we set it all up. Day of the sale, we both show up. He looks over the pistol, and hands me the cash. I count it out, $400. I let him know he is short. He says "You sure you can't take $400?" I hand him the cash, pick up my pistol, and he goes to pull more cash out of his pocket. I figure it is the other $50, but at this point I don't give a sh*t. I say don't bother, price is $500. And if you pull another $100 out of your pocket the price will be $550. The look on his face was worth the drive!!

It can go both ways. I know I lowball, but at least I'm polite about it. And don't get mad if they don't take the offer. Never know what they'll will take. However I've never showed up with less then agreed price on the phone or whatever. I've had people try that though!

Attempting to renegotiate after a deal is set or pay less than an agreed upon price for anything is very poor form and displays a lack of character. I would not deal with that person even if it meant I had to lick the oil off the gun for nutritional value because I needed the money to buy groceries.

Yup, I felt the same way. Added that person to my "won't ever deal with" list and moved on. Integrity is really important to me and if you don't have any - I don't need anything you have - including your cash...

Did you nail them on iTrader? I see a lot of stories but seldom see negative iTrader feedback... I would not hesitate to negate... and place them on my ignore list...
