Dumb or smart idea for ammo casing IDing on range floor?

What you want to do is very common at some matches , get a color besides black . I use red and blue a lot . also a single line or an x are all you need to do usually to get your brass back

you could buy a brass catcher. Some look like a butterfly net on a stand, others are smaller and attach to the gun.

The marker will work fine.

I always fire a few rounds and see where they land. Open my big range bag up and set it where they land. When I get home, most of my brass is in there.
