That one might be a 6.0, it doesn't say in the ad and I think they switched mid year in 03

idk man the early 6.0s are hit or miss

chrome badge usually signifies a 6.0

The 6.0 is junk in my book. I had an 02 Dmax and now have an 08. I have loves them both and zero trouble other than idler pulleys. I also had a 5.9 Cummins and had no complaints with it either. They ate just not as comfortable as the GM's.

I don't do a lot of heavy hauling, just a landscape trailer and boats. My budget is pretty low, trying to find something for less than $10k.

Personally I've only owned Chevy trucks and I have loved every one of them, but never a diesel. Just looked at some 07 Chevys on Autotrader, folks are proud of those!

Yep, 07 and newer don't seem to drop in value much. I've recently gotten away from diesels and am impressed with what I get from the gas burner 2500 Chevys. If you got the diesel itch you may as well scratch it while the market is down.

yeah man took me a few minutes to find my truck, and I was looking for the dreaded 6.0 7.3 guys seem to keep. Chevys do seem to command a premium. I did notice that alabama had better prices if your willing to travel some.

another thing to use is EBAY. I found my truck on ebay then bought it from the dealer like a regular deal.

Watch for different rules about buying out of state vehicles.

Its not that difficult. I paid local state tax based on douglas county where I live. I wasnt any different than buying in GA, other states may be different though.

Side note I did just remember, dont buy the truck till jan 1 though. Didnt they pass the new registration taxes that do away with ad valorem?
