Earl Thomas Gives Seattle the Bird!

If he was under contract why give him another one? Play out your contract, you are an expendable part of a team. Grow up and be a big boy.

The problem with nfl contracts is often the team can cut ties with a player with multiple years left on their contract and depending on how it's structured, not owe them a dime. People seem to have a problem with players trying to make more money because they know their career can end in one play, but nobody seems to care when a franchise let's a player go with years remaining on a deal.

I can understand someone trying maximize his contract. That has to be priority number one, at least that you're well taken care of, the player. But once they have that done, they want to play for a contender. Earl Thomas is in that boat. He's paid very well and he'd going to be able to sign with a number of teams in the off season. He didn't want to play for Seattle this year. That was his gripe.
