Eating rural Pigeons

I had a coworker that said when he was a kid they used to eat a lot of different birds some of it them just ole song birds as we would say

Pigeon and squab are delicious. Very commonly eaten all over the world

try one. pop it and grill it. as far as disease goes.chicken and pork are known to carry disease.
just make sure its done..heck,when i was a kid we ate swamp rabbit.. aka muskrat..
meat is meat.if its not super tasty,shred it,hot sauce,and taco shells. boom pigeon burrito.

My dad raised racing pigeons and if they lost too often guess what their fate was, he also raised quail and I don’t remember there being any difference in the taste

Nothing like a dozen marinated and wrapped in bacon on the grill to serve up before the main course is ready.

And all those "Pigeon Grade" high dollar shot guns? The were not held in esteem for killing flying rats.
