make a choice to commit a felony, if it is first offence one can go through a process to get rights back and the felony expunged...i don't have a problem with consequences for breaking the law...again, i'm talking about violent offenses, not property crime...
You got him on record at least. Well done!Emailed Ernest Smith (D) from district 125
he wrote back: "I am a strong supporter and proponent of upholding the Tenets of our 2nd Amendment! You can bank on my support!"
I'm not holding my breath though
I believe i was pretty clear...So are you saying that people convicted of violent felonies should be released from prison without 2a rights? Why shouldn't someone who has done their time be able to defend themselves? If you feel that they still pose a risk and may be dangerous, shouldn't the issue be dealing with prison time/the rehabilitation process?
Everything is a felony now. What if a man who didn't believe in gwcl's carried onto an elementary school campus? If caught, wouldn't that be considered a violent felony?
We're off topic, so I'm gonna try and stay on track now, but my point is that we should at least be consistent. Constitutional Carry would mean that every free man and woman can carry anywhere all the time.
Ok, that's all I needed to know.I believe i was pretty clear...
Ok, that's all I needed to know.
We've got a bill coming. So far it looks to be a partial campus carry bill plus maybe some more gems. It'll be a good starting point to get some of what we desperately need added. I'll post up a new thread when we have something to read unless someone beats me to it.
a flawed campus carry bill that discriminates against students who live in dorms and all students at non-public post-secondary schools
....how come that is a great thing but a flawed constitutional carry bill can't be passed?
Did this proposed legislation get any traction?
