A friend of mine wants to get her an entry level AR-15.Gun will do a lot of sitting in a closet,what would you suggest? And no she aint spending 2 grand on one at all.

Cheapest here is Dahlonega G&P... DPMS LCAR... $369.99
Its her first AR so under 500 to see if its what she wants at all.
Smith&Wesson M&P 15 sport II, Ruger are both under $500, but Dahlonega Gun's deal on the DPMS would be hard to beat.
The dpms. I own one and ran it very hard and couldn't make it stop. It now sits by my bed for a bump in the night. The ruger AR556 is another good choice. If it's in the budget and shes a new shooter, primary arms has the mro on sale right now....
