Well, when you get good news you share it with your friends so... I got a call from TruPrep the other day n they want me to teach a survival skills class. I have a basic course syllabus I made for the classes I have been teaching here n there to keep me from missing any important lessons. Aside from just sharing with my brothers on here (cuz I think that actually makes me a professional instructor -at least on paper) I wanted I put from you guys to make sure I don't leave anything out.

What kinds of things would you guys expect to learn from this type of class? I will post my syllabus and if y'all don't mind posting what I may have left out

Classes

BASIC
The rule of threes survival skills teaching plan: (basic or advanced)
Basic
How to prioritize threats to your health and well being
Part 1: lessons (the rule of threes)
Part 2: shopping list

Part 1:
This a basic priority list to deal with threats in a descending threat level

SECTION 1
THE RULE OF 3s
Security is the first priority followed by
3 minutes without air
3 hours of exposure (fire/shelter) including natural cordage and making string and char-rope
3 days without water (find/purify)
3 weeks without food (wild edibles and basic snares for fur&fish)
**I was reminded that mental toughness is crucial**
Focus on the tasks at hand and your successes not the failures. After assessing your situation, come up with an over all plan to give yourself goals. Successes in completing small goals can help you keep an "I got this" attitude. 1 step at a time you will finish the race
***Very basic first aid*** wound cleaning/dressing
****finding your way back to civilization**** with or with out a map and basic orienteering

Part 2:
Basics to carry:
Stainless steel water bottle (550 cord wrap or shoulder strap)
Bush knife and/or machete
Fire sources (friction, flint, solar and cig lighter) including lint/natural

SECTION2
Disaster and Emergency preparedness
Improvising items u need from items considered to be trash
This is a mindset that can be learned
Examples
1) hobo stoves
2) alcohol stoves
3) tin can lid skinning knife
4) EMT conduit pipe spear
