Extractoer pulls off of bolt.

I have a Remington 799, 7.62X39. It chambors the round just fine. But when I pull the bolt to the rear the extractor pulls out rather then the cartrage.

Is chamber coroded or rusty? Does it do it on loaded and fired round both. Brass or steel case!

It is a brand new rifle. I have only fired it one time. I was firing steel casings.

Check to see if the "hook" part is chipped or broken.

Steel is a lot harder on to extract. Remington will fix it if you call customer service! You just have to box and ship to them. Let them know you just bought it and a lot of times they will pay shipping to them. They have good customer support.

Does the extractor depart the bolt, or just not extract the brass?
