Family basic pistol/firearm safety class

Paul Forgey at 4g tactical is excellent and has the best prices. Probably one of the most knowledgeable in Georgia. 4gtactical.com

I will second Paul Forgey at 4G Tactical. I've been shooting for years but went to his Basic Pistol class a couple weeks ago with some co-workers who are new shooters upon another co-workers recommendation. Paul is certified out the wazoo and very down to earth. Everyone had a blast and we've already all signed up for his Tactical 1 class. Another plus is his prices are very reasonable.

I will third that one. Paul is awesome. And, unless he has changed things up, his range for pistol is surrounded by trees, which makes a huge difference in the heat. Took a class once in the summer, it was almost 100 out and it was all out in the blazing sun. Damn long day.

It is indeed still surrounded by trees. He also has a shelter set up with tables and chairs if you need to take a break. He is very accommodating and was very encouraging to the new shooters in the group.

I'd suggest contacting protective measures. He's on here and worth the drive.

Thanks for that. I would suggest to the O.P. to research the school/ Instructor before spending your money to insure that whomever you choose to train with is experienced, qualified, & has a comprehensive program that in addition to covering safety & basic fundamentals is tailored around the need of a civilian family.

I believe there are some good options available through here. If none of those work & travel up here is not possible I will do ) & have done several) remote classes around your schedule if there is a range locally that we could use.
I imagine others might could do the same.

Contacted you via email protective measures. Travel is not a problem.

Ok, I know I am gonna regret saying this but...

With the internet, you have access to more information than any one instructor could ever provide. Using common sense you can weed out the idiots. Hopefully you have a range and most people there are more than willing to give you advice. Again use common sense. Not all instructors will agree on everything either so you will have to use your judgment on what you will allow an instructor to teach you. I am not saying that the internet will ever take the place of a well trained competent instructor BUT, in my opinion I would rather train my family in what I consider safe and useful. Again that's just my opinion so take it as just that.

Treat every gun like it's loaded because, it is.

Thanks for your comment. I am doing just that, using the internet and word of mouth to find a credible instructor. The common sense will remain in play as I let my family know where I may disagree with the instructor (if I should) in regards to use. I prefer to enlist the help of a trained instructor to help me teach my family. To each his own.
