That's interesting. Perhaps the quality is not what it was a few years ago when I got mine. I pulled a few .223 projectiles earlier this week and paid close attention to the result. There was no marring or deformation of any kind. The gripping area of the tool I have also appears to be well-machined. If the quality has indeed gone downhill, that's really unfortunate.
