Father shoots 17 year old daughters BF in her bed. She told dad she didn't know him.

Because you are now asking about a hypothetical that did not occur. It seemed to be a pertinent version of your question.

I asked that question actually. And if both parties were innocent of any wrongdoing, then that's a tough one.

So what if the kid shot him? The kid "reasonably believed" his life was in danger and, considering he was invited over by an occupant of the home, he "reasonably believed" that he was there lawfully, yeah?

In GA you cannot be justified in the use of deadly force if the weapon used you are not eligible to possess.

DO you have a statute on that? There was a kid in the news a while back that used his dad's AR to defend his little sister from burglars. No charges filed.

If the kid had shot the father, I'm pretty certain he'd be charged with at the very least manslaughter if not 2nd degree murder and I'd rather not be on the jury. I'd be perfectly fine with being on the jury as the case stands right now if the father is charged for anything.

Sounds more like you take the position of the person shot than the homeowner.

I'm not taking any position, but it's ridiculous to think you can intentionally kill an innocent person and nobody have to suffer any legal consequences.

Now, back to topic... Did the kid have a legal right to use lethal force against the dad, based on your "reasonable man" doctrine?
