no other gun in my safe rusted like that. is why I sold it.
my safe is in my office closet. always 70 degrees in my house.
Rust proof and limited maintenance savage.
I have a savage 12 that I have had trouble with underneath the action rusting etc. even threw a new barrel on there and that cured it. But was still having issues underneath the action. I always took the barreled action out and cleaned it up and re-oiled. Climate controlled area inside my safe...

Savage barrel rusting....
I have a Savage 10FP in .223 Rem. with a rusty barrel. My first thought was, "Oh crap! everything in the safe is ruined!", but upon further investigation, *only* the savage rusted. Not just a little bit, but great gobs of rusty feathery mossy stuff around the muzzle and inside the barrel...
