Alright, the idea that this even got introduced by 'Democrats that know better' speaks to the desperation of the Gun Ban Crowd. This bill was laid out there to shield the White House from criticism over ISIS, but today the WH came out swinging for this so I think that ramps it up and they need to be exposed.

There are a whole bunch of rubes that will be trying to sell this to you in the coming weeks so please bone up.

How does one get on the "No Fly" List? Nobody is saying. So without 'Due Process' one can be put on it. If you have a similar name of a possible terrorist, piss off a bureaucrat, or have a certain bumper sticker bam, on the watch list you go!

There is no way to find out how you got on it, nor is there a process to plead your case to be removed. Ted Kennedy found himself on it and had to go all the way to the head of Homeland Security, Tom Ridge, to get his name removed. GA Rep John Lewis was once on it. I saw today where an eight year old is on it, it's a bad thing without a defined recourse.

The very idea of this bill, shows contempt for the 5th Amendment's Due Process and the folks pushing it deserve to be tarred and feathered.

If someone is so dangerous that need to be put on a list then by all means arrest and indict them.

And although the NRA has spent a decade explaining that their opposition rests on the fact that the no-fly list is imprecise, and just about anyone could end up on it by happenstance–just like the late Senator Ted Kennedy did in 2004, according to The Washington PostDemocrats and anti-gun publications are ganging up in hopes of forcing the gun rights giant to cower down and say uncle.

So here is an interesting point–in July 2014, a time when the concerted attack against the NRA was at a lull, the Huffington Post ran a column highlighting how imprecise the no-fly list is and showing seven ways citizens can end up on the list. And whether they intended to or not, the HuffPo succeeded in making the NRA’s point.

According to the Huff Po, there are “7 ways that you (yes, you) could end up on a terrorist watch list.” They are:

Thank you sir.

It's been a while and you tend to bring up issues that need a helping hand. I'm sure the good folks here will assist to attempt to make progress.

It's apparent that this is just another avenue of approach to further restrict rights without due process, something democrats seem to have an affinity for.

If they are not considered a significant threat then why are they roaming?

Typical liberals advocating for rights restrictions by using emotions.

You don't want *those* people having guns!

Actually, yes I do. If Ahmad the Jihadi wants to exercise his Second Amendment Right, fine. If he exercises it inappropriately, hopefully a decent citizen will exercise their right to neutralize him.

I fully anticipate now that Obama knows that dead children won't get gun control passed, he can scare Republicans into some background check BS by pulling the terrorism card.

“It’s horrifying. It’s terrifying. This is a tragedy waiting to happen,” said Long Island U.S. Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.)

King exposed the loophole in federal gun laws that allow people on the FBI terrorist watch list to go legally into a gun store and buy handguns and assault weapons.

The watch list is not used when gun store owners do background checks, and in light of the Paris terror attacks this past Friday, King wants the law changed as soon as possible.

It gets even worse, though. If your name erroneously appears on that watch list, which as of 2013 included nearly 900,000 names, the Democrats’ proposed legislation renders you virtually powerless to find out why your name is on there, let alone to have it removed. And having your name erroneously or fraudulently added to that list isn’t as far-fetched as you might think.

In 2014, for example, Weekly Standard writer and Fox News contributor Stephen F. Hayes was informed that somebody added his name to the Department of Homeland Security’s terrorist watch list. There is zero credible evidence that he has any ties whatsoever to terrorism or to any terrorist organizations. Yet, under the Democrats’ new bill, he and everyone else who is erroneously listed would be banned from ever purchasing or possessing a firearm. Hayes’ apparent crime was traveling overseas for a cruise. Hayes is not alone. Each year, thousands of names end up on the terror watch list for no good reason whatsoever.

Due process isn’t a “loophole,” though. Due process is a fundamental right enshrined in the Constitution of the United States. It states that the government cannot permanently deprive you of your constitutional rights unless and until a jury of your peers has decided beyond a reasonable doubt that you have committed a criminal act.

The silly gun control proposal from Democrats attempts to turn the principle of due process on its head. Instead of requiring a jury of your peers to determine beyond a reasonable doubt that you have committed a crime, Democrats have decided that power should belong to a handful of Washington, D.C.-based bureaucrats. Instead of allowing you to review and challenge all evidence presented against you, Democrats have decided that evidence should be kept secret. Instead of requiring a legal standard that all reasonable doubt must be eliminated prior to the government-sanctioned revocation of your rights, Democrats have decided that a mere preponderance of evidence should be plenty.
