Finally finished off my 50 cal - Places to shoot?

Thanks to Mammoth Armory , I finally have a scope for my plinker. Now, where are the closest places to shoot a 50 out to a decent distance? I’m in Waleska. Very much a noob in the long range thing so I don’t need crazy distance to start with.

Elk River Training Center, Pelham TN: 1000yds

Dead Zero, Franklin TN: 1000yds

Arena Training Center, Blakely GA: approx 2000m

The Sawmill, Laurens SC: 1400yds

Any closer ones that offer something out to only 300-400 just so I can get my toes wet? I need to work on some basics first and just get comfortable with the rifle. Don’t want to make a total fool out of myself the first time out.

Don’t overthink it. If you can punch a solid group at 100 then you can do it at distance. The only way is to get out there and learn. Good ballistic calculator on your phone and you’ll be set. Wind is the only thing will really kick your butt learning how to read it.

There’s a place out to a 1000 in Athens, Georgia. I don’t know the name off hand. I’ll ask my brother. Also 400 yards is a joke for .223. You’ll be on in 3 shots with a rifle like that. I would recommend getting to a 1000 yard range and walking out to distance.

Clinton house is great. I’ve shot a few matches there.

Gunsite hills. Went once and never went back. Didn’t have any issues with him but the range is terrible. Plus you and only shoot from a bench rest so pretty boring.
