I have been looking for a long time to run across a 6 inch 1911. I found one yesterday in 10mm and jumped on it. It's a Remington R1 Hunter and I shot it today. It is very accurate and a joy to shoot. I have a Smith and Wesson E Series and had a Springfield A1 Loaded which I plan on replacing but I picked this up in the mean time. The accuracy at 25 yards is impressive and at 75 yards it is easy to destroy a silhouette. I had to disassemble it and do a little cleaning and light high grit sanding to turn the action into butter but overall it is a fine weapon. It will out shoot any pistol I have at 75 yards. Pretty stoked about my new 6 inch 1911. As you can see it's just a tad longer than the standard 1911 but the added length helps with the recoil. Again the distance at which it will shoot is awesome. I am going to replace some of the small parts with stainless to give a two tone look. The only thing I am not happy with is the rear adj. sight has no dots to line up with the front sight so that will have to change quick. Other than that it a real shooter.
