Finishing questions

I am considering buying a GEN3 G19. The slide has had a "Ikote" (which I think is the seller's way of saying he did it himself) finish applied to it.
I am wondering if this can be removed to reveal the original finish? Also, would this coating void the GLOCK warranty, as I'd like to take it to Smyrna to be gone over if I buy it.

SHOULDNT VOID WARRENTY IF ONLY APPLIED TO OUTSIDE OF SLIDE. GLOCK USED TO REFINISH FOR ABOUT $100 BUCKS. I BOUGHT ONE CHEEP ENOUGH TO HAVE THEM REFINISH SEVERAL YEARS BACK WAS $75.00 AT THAT TIME.
