My father was a full-time firefighter in Elizabeth, NJ while I was growing up. He was the tiller man on a hook and ladder. I remember one day he and the crew pulled the rig up in front of the house, I was all of 4 years old but I could still remember how excited I was, I could have jumped right out of my skin! I've always had a deep respect for those men, and an awe at the trucks they use.
